Gumball Tristopher Watterson, built-in Zach Watterson, (voiced past Logan Grove in seasons 1–3, Jacob Hopkins in seasons 3–5, Nicolas Cantu in season 5–6, and Duke Cutler in The Gumball Chronicles onward) is the protagonist of the serial. Dr. Nicole Watterson (née Senicourt) (voiced by Teresa Gallagher) is a 38-year-old[thirteen] true cat and the mother of Gumball, Darwin, and Anais. A workaholic, she is often bossy, over-stressed, and possesses a brusk atmosphere. She acts as a guide to her sons when they become in a tough spot with their misadventures. Competitive past nature, Nicole is a primary martial artist and is very active and flexible. Richard Buckley Watterson (voiced by Dan Russell) is a 38-year-former anthropomorphic pink rabbit. He is the begetter of Gumball, Darwin and Anais.
